Hi! My name is Pen and I am a self confessed yarn addict living in England with my ever growing family and small army of furry, fishy and feathered creatures. Knitting and crocheting is my sanity saviour!
Sarah and I made some Rocky Road whilst waiting for David to get back from the garden centre with fresh compost supplies. It’s one of Nigella’s recipes which I’ve made on too many occasions with the justification it’s for the kids but sneakily helping myself greedily to too many pieces. I always chuck in a few extra raisins/sultanas as although probably not authentic they seem to work for even the dried fruit anti’s in our household! Having clambered back on the Weightwatchers wagon last week I thought it might be useful, if not a little scary, to point up the whole recipe so that I could craftily cut them up into pieces that won’t break the scales or my stingy points allowance. Oh …. my …… goodness– I nearly had a heart attack when I worked out that the whole recipe which lasts less than 36hrs in our fridge after the chocolate locusts have discovered them – equates to almost a week’s points allowance! Sadly I have had no choice but to hide them in the back of the fridge so they cannot wave at me when I open the door and I leave a pair of earplugs by the kitchen door so I cannot hear them calling my name when I pass by.
