I don't tend to pay much attention to hits and views on Etsy, mostly because I start to get a bit obsessive about checking them every 18 minutes! Having said that I was completely boggled last Friday when I spotted that my bobble blanket (finished item) was receiving hit after hit and by the end of the day I'd had hundreds of hits! At first I wondered whether my shop had been infected by a virus or some other nasty but that didn't seem possible.
I then had a thought and checked my inbox for the day's Etsy Finds email and low and behold, there was my blanket, part way down sitting proudly amongst lots of other beautifully handmade items. I think it was probably in the wrong theme as it was sitting amongst father's day and graduates presents and gift ideas but any publicity is good publicity so I'm not really complaining!
So there you go, my five minutes of fame and I wasn't even aware it was happening! Oh well!
The good news is that I have sold some patterns for the blanket off the back of it through Etsy and it's now also listed on Ravelry if you prefer to shop in sterling. So all in all a good thing!
