If you are finding Row 14 (Frog's Head) a bit of a challenge then here is a step by step helping hand for the decreases in that row.
Ok - Row 13 should be a purl row, turn and you should now have the right side of the work facing you and you're ready to start Row 14.
Row 14
i) K5 - Knit the first 5 stitches
ii) sl2 - this means slip 2 stitches from the left hand needle to the right hand needle without knitting them. It's a bit like doing the stitch, knit 2 tog except you don't actually knit them and simply move them across the from one needle to the other. So, insert the tip of your right hand needle into the front of the second loop on the left hand needle and then immediately into the front of the first loop. You now have the tips of your needles inserted into both loops as though you were going to knit them together. Don't knit them together! Simply pull the 2 stitches off the left hand needle so that they remain on the right hand needle. You've just slipped 2 stitches (sl2)
iii) K1 - knit the next stitch as normal
iv) P2SSO - this means pass the 2 stitches you slipped off the left hand needle and onto the right hand needle at step (ii) over the stitch you just knitted at step (iii). Ok - here you need to insert the tip of your left hand needle into the front of the second loop and also the third loop (counting from the tip of the right hand needle) - these are the two loops you've slipped in step ii. Gently lift them over the first stitch on the right hand needle and off altogether. (A bit like casting/binding off but doing it with 2 stitches at a time). You should now have 6 sts on your right hand needle because you have just decreased by 2 when you passed the 2 sts over.
v) K9 - knit the next 9 stitches as normal
vi) sl2 - repeat step ii) above
vii) K1 - knit the next st as normal
viii) P2SSO - repeat step iv) above. Once completed you should now have 16sts on your right hand needle.
ix) K9 - knit the next 9 sts as normal
x) sl2 - repeat step ii) above
xi) K1 - knit the next st as normal
xii) P2SSO - repeat step iv). Once completed you should now have 26sts on your right hand needle.
xiii) K5 - knit the next 5 sts as normal
You should be left with 31 stitches on your right hand needle having dropped 6 sts using the slip 2, k1, p2sso method which you do 3 times in Row 14. This method leaves a raised stitch where the decrease is which is how you get the vertical stripe going up the middle of his tummy.
